Liner services

DFDS Lys Line provides liner services between Scandinavia and Ireland, UK, the Continent, Spain, Portugal and Eastern Mediterranean.

DFDS Lys Line has operated Liner Service in the North Sea Basin since 1970. Originally the line was based on transportation of forestry products from the Oslofjord area to Ireland, but in 1974 the Swedish Port - Lysekil was included in the service. The transportation of paper and other forestry products for the Norwegian and Swedish Industry still is the basis for the DFDS Lys Line service. However, freight of containers and break bulk cargo to the whole of Europe has come to play an important role in our business and forms today DFDS Lys Line’s core activities.
